Keep the cue ball out of the pocket, or it's a scratch!
The Brunswick Viz-A-Ball is a very unique plastic "spare ball," to say the least. The ball will certainly grab peoples' attention when you throw it down the lane, with it being solid white. I bought this ball back in 2006 to help me shoot corner pin spares (the 4-pin and 7-pin because I'm a lefthander) and it is the best ball I've ever used to shoot spares. This ball just plain slides or skids down the lane - no grab whatsoever, even if I accidentally use my "hook release" as I do on my strike ball. Years ago I used to use the Columbia Blue Dot, which is the hardest bowling ball ever made (a hardness of 90 on the durometer). It's a great spare ball, but I give a slight edge to the Viz-A-Ball. I use a 16-lb. Viz-A-Ball and a 16-lb. strike ball all the time (particle bowling balls).
Guys on my Thursday night league call my Viz-A-Ball everything from the "cue ball" to the "snow ball" to the "ostrich egg".
If you need an excellent ball to shoot corner pin...
